Titans Enter Offseason Healthy
By Billy Byler January 11, 2004

Despite temperatures that dropped to -4 degrees fahrenheit in Saturday's 14-17 loss to New England, the Titans now enter the offseason relatively healthy.

Only three Titans players did not pass their final checkout physicals Sunday morning. Kicker Joe Nedney, cornerback Andre Woolfolk, and linebacker Rocky Calmus failed their physicals but only due to obvious season ending injuries all three have experienced.

Four Titans players are scheduled for surgery in the offseason to repair nagging injuries. Offensive tackle Matt Martin and safety Scott McGarrahan will both undergo knee surgery while runningback Eddie George will have his knee scoped.

Safety Lance Schulters will undergo shoulder surgery.

Titans quarterback Steve McNair, despite battling injuries most of the second half of the season, will not need offseason surgery.

''Steve's not going to need anything done,'' Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. ''His goal is to heel up and go to Hawaii so he can enjoy that experience.''
