Titans Players Report For Final Team Meeting Of Season
By Billy Byler January 11, 2004

Tennessee's football season concluded Saturday night with a 14-17 Titans loss in New England. Sunday morning, Titans players reported to Baptist Sports Park for a final team meeting.

''This day is a day that's difficult,'' Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. ''The players came in and they had check out physicals, and then we had a team meeting.''

Among other things, the meeting focused on the team's continued improvement in the offseason.

''I thought they left with a pretty good understanding of where we are as a football team,'' Fisher said, ''and the types of things we need to do to get beyond where we've been the last couple of years.''

The last couple of years have seen the Titans reach the playoffs, but fall short in completing a Super Bowl run. Fisher said his team's accomplishments this season are commendable, but the season ends with both players and coaches unsatisfied.

''We did some very good things as a team this year,'' Fisher said. ''I told them they had a lot to be proud of, and they had every right to be disappointed. No one should feel ashamed, but by no means should we be satisfied.''
