Owner Adams says Instant Replay will be back
By David Knies December 21, 2003

The NFL's competition committee will meet this spring to decide if Instant Replay should be brought back next year.

Word spread this year that many coaches and owners were not happy with the system and would not like to see it return.

Tennessee Titans Owner Bud Adams is not one of those owners. Adams believes that Instant Replay will still be in use in 2004.

''I think it will be back for one reason only,'' said Adams. ''That is if the fans see a play that was not called right, if the coaches or the officials call for a replay and then they get it corrected.''

Adams added that there will probably be some modifications made to the current replay format.

''I do think they will make some changes,'' said Adams. ''I can't say what that is going to be, but there will be some changes. I almost guarantee it will be back next season.''

The competition committee set up to make decisions on Instant Replay is made up of coaches and team administrators from around the league.
