McNair Watches On, Still A Game Time Decision
By David Reed December 19, 2003

Steve McNair watched on as Neil O'Donnell lead the Titans through the offense at Baptist Sports Park on Friday

McNair went over the play sheet as O'Donnell took the snaps against the scout team defense.

Head Coach Jeff Fisher said McNair situation is still improving, but he's still questionable for Sunday's game against Houston.

"He's a little better, but he's still going to be a game time decision,'' Fisher said. ''I think he's improving over all, the ankle joint is improving, the little fracture is improving, the calf is improving, he's just got some issues with the upper leg that bothering him a little bit,''.

Fisher said mobility will be their main concern in making the decision to play McNair.

''If he can't get under center and move around, and buy time to protect himself, he's not going to play,''.

O'Donnell ran the first team offense for the second straight day, and show no signs of fatigue or rust.

''Neil felt fine, he wasn't sore, he's in good shape,'' Fisher said. ''He was able to pick up were he left off, and worked against the Texans defense,''.

''If Steve can't go, Neil will be able to run the offense with no problems,''.

Wide receiver Tyrone Calico also sat out Friday's practice. Calico is nursing a sprained right knee that has kept him off the field since Wednesday. He will also be a game time decision.
