O'Donnell Still Unsigned, Gesser Takes Over Practice Duties

With the Titans still unable to reach an agreement with former backup quarterback Neil O'Donnell and current starting quarterback Steve McNair out of practice, rookie quarterback Jason Gesser took all the snaps at practice on Wednesday.

''He did fine, he took all the reps,'' Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. ''He did the defensive scout team and took all the offensive reps.''

Gesser stepped into the role of the number one quarterback at practice after Tuesday's announcement backup Billy Volek would miss the remainder of the seasson due to complications with his spleen.

McNair is still out of practice because of an ankle injury he suffered two weeks ago versus Indianapolis.

''He may have a chance (to practice) Friday,'' Fisher said. ''Its unlikely that he does much tomorrow.''

O'Donnell is still in talks with the Titans, but because of the team's salary cap room an agreement has yet to be settled.

''If we can't get things done with Neil and they're still talking,'' Fisher said. ''We may very well come into this game with two quarterbacks.''
