Arab's Fun 92-7 And McMinnville's Hot Country 104 Named Titans Radio Partners Of The Year 2003
Titans Radio Release December 16, 2003

Titans Radio awarded its 2003 Titans Radio Partner Of The Year Awards Sunday to Arab's Fun 92-7 and McMinnville's Hot Country 104.

The annual award recognizes the most outstanding contributions made by a Titans Radio station over the last year.

''We joke every year that we really have 77 Titans Radio Partners of the Year,'' Titans Radio Executive Producer Larry Stone said. ''Every one of our stations does an amazing job with Titans coverage. However, WTRZ and WAFN distinguished themselves with their level of support.''

The award, now its sixth year, has become a real source of pride for the 77 stations that carry Titans football across the mid south.

"We just wanted to find a way to say thank you for a job well done," The Voice of The Titans Mike Keith said. "These two stations have been great friends to the Titans and Titans Radio."

Hot Country 104 WTRZ has been a member of the network since 1996, when the station carried Houston Oilers games, before the team even moved to Tennessee. The station has been a constant, providing complete Titans coverage in-season and out of season.

In addition, Hot Country 104 has made a concerted effort to connect Titans Radio with its audience through special events. Keith and Stone have been repeated guests at local civic meetings over the years. In addition, Hot Country 104 has been a giant supporter of the annual Titans Caravan. The April, 2003 event drew hundreds to the McMinnville Kroger for a down-home, city-center type of event, featuring the local high schools.

Fun 92-7 WAFN joined Titans Radio in 2001 and has quickly become an ardent member of the family. The station has hosted several Caravan stops, including one of the first large-size performances of the Titans Caravan School programs, "Making Good Choices." Fun 92-7 set up the assembly at the new Albertville School, giving Titans personnel the chance to work the program in front of a group numbered at 500 to 600. From this first tryout, the program has now grown into one of the mainstays of the Titans Caravan.

In addition, Fun 92-7 offers listeners a strong signal to follow Mike, Pat and Larry each week. The station heavily promotes its Titans coverage in addition to its strong commitment to local sports.

Representatives from each station accepted the awards during a pregame gathering of all 77 Titans Radio partners Sunday. In addition, Fun 92-7's Michael St. John and WTRZ's Jeff Edwards were recognized on the field at the Coliseum prior to the Titans win over Buffalo.

The two stations will be permanently recognized inside the Titans Radio suite at the Coliseum, joining previous winners WGOW-Chattanooga (1998), WKXD-Cookeville and WSON-Henderson (1999), WOKI-Knoxville and WFWL-Camden (2000), WQLT-Florence and WAKM-Franklin (2001), as well as WPTQ-Bowling Green and WYNU-Jackson (2002).

Titans Radio ranks as the NFL's second largest radio networks with 77 partners across the mid south. The network is a joint-venture of Citadel Communications and Capitol Radio Networks.
