Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday that the team's win over Detroit in the 2004 season finale was a huge boost for players and staff alike.
''It was something that this group needed very badly,'' Fisher said. ''Today's mood was, there was a slight sense of relief that it was over, but on the other hand they were encouraged at their own efforts yesterday and the results of the ballgame.''
''That will do us some good down the road.''
The Titans defense stopped the Lions on fourth down with less than one minute to go to seal Sunday's win 24-19. Fisher spoke very highly of his defense, particularly linebacker Brad Kassell.
"We recorded 19 tackles from Brad Kassell, which is a great effort," Fisher said. "He had nothing left after the ballgame."
"Brad has played through things and done things way beyond our expectations."
"Albert (Haynesworth) played 39 plays, after being off for five weeks and was effective for us."
"I thought overall, considering the circumstances, it was a good effort."
