Fisher: 2004 Squad One Of His 'Favorites'
By Brad Willis January 3, 2005

Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher, despite the team's 5-11 record, said Monday that the 2004 squad ranks as one of his favorite teams of all time.

"Because of their heart, and what they went through, they never wavered, they didn't complain, they understood, they didn't blame anybody, other than themselves as individuals,'' Fisher said. "They just kept playing, and to me, every year is different, the chemistry involved with each team is different, they're unique.

"This one was close. This one had a winning personality. It was unfortunate that we were unable to do that."

Fisher said the effort was not lost with his players.

"I had a number of players come to me that have been other players today and said that they've never seen another team play as hard as this one played."

Fisher said he that while the final 2004 record was disappointing to the players and staff, he is confident the team will look back on this season as a learning experience.

"It's been one of the more challenging years, but I'll give them a lot of credit for keeping themselves going through some tough times."
