Tennessee's Christmas night loss to Denver in the Coliseum Saturday evening came with more injuries and an ineffective Titans offense.
The main problem though, according to both Titans players and coaches, came at the hands, or lack thereof, of the Tennessee receivers.
''We helped them with about four or five drops,'' Titans Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger said. ''I think we probably had, in the second half, at least five drops and that doesn't help in the passing game.''
Titans receivers Drew Bennett, Shad Meier, and Ben Troupe all dropped at least one pass in Tennessee's 16-37 loss Saturday night. At least two of those drops would have been first down completions.
''We go back and look at us,'' Titans receiver Drew Bennett said. ''If every guy has one drop, that's five drops; that's five drives that are stopped.''
Despite the dropped passes, Bennett finished the game with two catches for 26 yards. To Bennett, his positive numbers did not overshadow the negatives.
''You can't just come back from this game and say, 'I only had one drop,''' Bennett said. ''Myself included, you know, 'I only had one drop, and that's OK.' That's not OK. Losing isn't OK, and I think we need to find a way to win.''
