A sleet-covered practice field sent the Titans inside Thursday as preparations continue for the Broncos.
''We really wanted to go outside today, but the field froze up,'' Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. ''They understand and we may have a walkthrough outside tomorrow just to get them used to it.''
With Saturday's temperatures expected in the teens, Fisher said the biggest concern will be the condition of the surface at the Coliseum after Nashville received two inches of ice Wednesday night.
''What you don’t want to have is guys with the right shoes on and positive footing and then guys, for whatever reason, chose to wear the wrong shoe and can’t keep their feet,'' Fisher said. ''You can’t afford to have that. It is their responsibility well before the game to put themselves in the proper shoe.''
Tackle Brad Hopkins practiced Thursday and should return to the lineup, still wearing the cast.
''We have been working with placing the hand in different positions with the cast and I think they have just about arrived at something that will be comfortable playing in,'' Fisher said.
Tackle Jason Mathews has been dealing with soreness in his back and would play for Fred Miller if Mathews can go.
The Titans will practice Friday, before the team allows the players to go home to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with family. The Titans will come back together mid morning Saturday.
