Titans Headed To Miami Again In '05
Staff Report December 22, 2004

The Titans will make a return trip to Miami in 2005 as part of the 16-game regular season schedule.

Only one opponent, the Titans' AFC west home game, remains unknown with one week remaining in the season. If the season ended today, the Titans would host Oakland.

Under the NFL's new scheduling system, only two games each season are based on where a team finishes the previous season. Tennessee is guaranteed of a fourth place finish in the AFC South because of its two losses to the Texans. That means the Titans face the fourth place teams from the AFC East and West.

Next year will mark the third straight meeting with the Dolphins and the fifth since 1999. If the Titans end up facing the Raiders, it will mark the fifth straight year for that series. Excluding Tennessee's division mates, the Titans have played the Raiders more than any other team since moving to Tennessee.

The Titans will play former AFC Central rivals in 2005 as north members Baltimore and Cincinnati come to Nashville, and the team heads to Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

In the NFC, the Titans will face the west division with Seattle and San Francisco making their first-ever trips to Nashville. The franchise hasn't played Seattle since 1998. The Titans will travel to St. Louis and Arizona next year. Tennessee hasn't played the Cardinals in a regular season game since 1997.

Exact dates and times for the 2005 schedule will be announced in April. Tickets will go on sale in June or July.
