Titans running back Chris Brown will not return to the field this season.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher made the announcement Sunday.
''We're going to shut him down for the rest of the year,'' Fisher told the Tennessean. ''We're just going to let him try and get healthy.''
Fisher is expected to make the official announcement Monday.
Brown has been suffering from a turf toe injury since the Oct.24 game against the Vikings.
Brown did not travel with the team to Oakland Sunday. He met with Carolina Panthers orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Anderson on Friday concerning his turf toe.
Brown ends his season with 1,067 yards and six touchdowns.
