Titans General Manager Floyd Reese said recent reports linking him to general manager positions in Miami and Cleveland are nothing more than speculation.

''Someone in another town can write an article that has no basis to it and 15 newspapers copy it,'' Reese told the Tennessean. ''There is no basis to it, but that is what happens.''

Reese had been mentioned earlier this month in connection with the Cleveland restructuring. Then, this week a Miami newspaper mentioned Reese as a possible Dolphins candidate. Reese remains close friends with LSU Coach Nick Saban, who's talked with the Dolphins about their coaching vacancy. The two coached together with the Oilers during the 88-89 season.

''He would do a great job,'' Reese told the Tennessean. ''He is the kind of blend that a lot of franchises are looking for in that he has the great coaching background. He has literally won every place he has been.''
