Titans Injuries Continues To Grow
By Jennifer Cissell December 14, 2004

Following Tennessee's 49-38 loss to Kansas City Monday night, the Titan's injury list grew.

Of the most significant was guard Justin Hartwig who had to have surgery due to a severe finger laceration.

''It was a very serious laceration on his ring finger,'' Fisher said. ''It doesn't appear to be as serious from a nerve standpoint as we first anticipated.''

''There is a chance that Justin could play. Now the challenge is going to be snapping.''

Starting linebacker Keith Bulluck suffered a mild concussion.

''I don't think that will put (Bulluck) out for any length of time,'' Fisher said.

Tight end Erron Kinney and wide receiver Derrick Mason will both undergo an MRI to take a closer look at ankle sprains.

Last night's starting quarterback Billy Volek suffered a wrist sprain while guard Benji Olson has a big toe sprain.

Although Fisher is reluctant to classify Olson's injury as turf toe, running back Chris Brown will have yet another MRI performed on his toe.

''(Brown's) got some significant swelling there today,'' Fisher said. ''We just want to check it to make sure it's still okay so we can continue doing what we've been doing with Chris.''

Wide receiver Drew Bennett had a thigh contusion and upset stomach; neither having any long term effect.

Tackle Fred Miller will not practice this week due to continued soreness in his ankle.

However, tackle Brad Hopkins, who broke his hand in November, will be returning to the practice field this week.

''I don't know if he'll have a chance to play,'' Fisher said. ''but he'll be practicing with us this week.''
