During Tuesday's press conference head coach Jeff Fisher told reporters just how proud he was of his team, regardless of their 4-9 season.
''It's a special group,'' Fisher said. ''They're willing to do whatever they possibly can.''
Tennessee's playoff hopes might have came to an end during Monday night's football game against Kansas City, but that hasn't meant that they have given up playing hard football.
''Justin Ena, Michael Waddell, Scott McGarrahan and Donnie Nickey- these guys were on the kickoff cover team,'' Fisher said. ''When you go out to kick the ball off and you see four or five of your starters on the kickoff cover team, you have to respect that.''
''These guys were working and laying it out there and doing their best.''
At one point during the 49-38 loss the Titans were stretched so thin that Fisher turned to offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and told him that the team might have to punt the ball away on 1st and 10.
''We were in an interesting situation yesterday when Benji (Olson) was inside with his (injured) toe and Fred (Miller) was out,'' Fisher said. ''When Justin (Hartwig) went down I was actually looking for Erron Kinney to put him at tackle.''
''I was told Erron had a sprained ankle so I turned back to the sideline and told Mike 'get ready we're going to punt,''' Fisher said jokingly.
The healthy members of this Titans team are dealing with a heavy work load due to the number of injuries this season.
The injury report following the loss to the Chiefs includes Drew Bennett, Chris Brown, Keith Bulluck, Justin Hartwig, Erron Kinney, Derrick Mason, Benji Olson, and Billy Volek.
