Cook To See Neurologist, Others Evaluated
By Jonathan Hutton December 7, 2009
Other than quarterback Vince Young, tight end Jared Cook led the injury report for the Titans following Sunday's game in Indianapolis. Cook suffered a concussion while covering the second kickoff of the game. Following the new concussion policy established by the NFL two weeks ago, Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said the team would have a neutral physician involved to assess baselines and comparisons. Fisher said he would wait on test results before he made a determination on Cook's availability for St. Louis. Meanwhile, safety Michael Griffin [shoulder] and fullback Ahmard Hall [ankle] were also on the postgame injury report. Fisher said both had a chance to practice this week. ''We had a few things in the ballgame, but nothing I think is going to threaten anybody as far as not being able to participate in practice and/or play in the ballgame,'' Fisher said. Two starters missed Sunday's game due to lingering injury problems. Wide receiver Justin Gage and defensive tackle Jason Jones were inactive, however Fisher said Gage, who has not seen the field since Nov. 8, had a chance to return to the lineup this Sunday against St. Louis. Fisher told reporters last week that Jones might see a specialist regarding his shoulder injury. Jones has missed five consecutive games and could be placed on Injured Reserve if problems continued. ''I hope to have more for you on Wednesday,'' Fisher said. ''We are still in the process [of evaluating].'' Jones has tallied four sacks in seven games played this season.
