Scaife Signs One Year Tender Offer
Staff Report March 16, 2010
Tight end Bo Scaife has signed his one-year tender offer with the Titans, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Scaife, the Titans third-leading receiver with 45 receptions, is scheduled to receive a 10% salary increase for a total of just over $4.9 million in 2010. He received the team's franchise tag last season, preventing him from hitting the open market as an unrestricted free agent. The lack of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement moved Scaife to restricted free agent status for this offseason.
Scaife will enter the season as the top tight end on the Titans roster, ahead of 2009 draft pick Jared Cook and 2008 draft pick Craig Stevens. Veteran Alge Crumpler is an unrestricted free agent.
Scaife, a sixth-round pick by the Titans in 2005, has 215 catches for 2,065 yards and nine touchdowns throughout his five seasons in Nashville.
