Donate Your Old Coat At Sunday's Game
The Titans will host their annual coat drive on Sunday when the team hosts the Green Bay Packers at LP Field.
Coats of all sizes are need to support Nashville's less-fortunate neighbors during this time of serious economic challenges. Fans are asked to bring coats to the game and drop them off at one of seven specially marked collection sites located near the stadium entrances.
Through the Titans’ longstanding partnership with the National Football Foundation and the Play it Smart Program, the team will invite student-athletes involved in the program from schools in Nashville and Knoxville to assist in the annual Titans Foundation coat drive.
The Nashville high schools will be Pearl Cohn and Stratford, along with Austin East, Fulton and West from Knoxville. The student-athletes from these schools will staff each of the seven collection stations.
Typically within 72 hours of the coat drive, the coats are distributed to area non-profit agencies that serve those in need in Middle Tennessee. Last season’s coat drive collected more than 2,000 new and used coats that were donated to various local charities that included Baptist Children Home, Bethlehem Center of Nashville, Campus for Human Development, Catholic Charities, Magness Potter, Martha O’Bryan Center, Nashville Rescue Mission, YWCA, and the Salvation Army.
“Our fans continue to be incredibly supportive of our various game-day drives and we know that this week’s coat drive will be no exception,” Titans EVP of Administration and Facilities Don MacLachlan said. “Our fans donate several thousand coats each year and without question help many of our less-fortunate neighbors remain warm throughout the winter months from these coats.”
The Titans will continue to host stadium drives through the rest of the season to include the Second Harvest Food Drive on Sunday, November 23rd versus the Jets and the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive on Sunday, December 7th versus the Browns.
