Jacksonville Jaguars
Del Rio Signs Extension

Jaguars Head Coach Jack Del Rio has signed a contract extension, a reward for winning his first playoff game the Associated Press reported.

Del Rio's length of contract and salary were not disclosed by the team, but the salary was expected to be a significant jump from the original five-year, $6.5 million contract he signed in 2003.

The Jaguars were 11-5 in 2007, and beat Pittsburgh in the first round of the playoffs and then ended the season with a 31-20 loss at New England.

Del Rio already received one pay bump, getting a one-year extension after the 2005 season. That followed a 12-4 season and the franchise's first playoff berth since 1999.

Jacksonville is 45-35 in five years under Del Rio.

Indianapolis Colts
Harrison 'Not A Suspect' In Philly Shooting

Marvin Harrison’s agent said the Indianapolis Colts wide receiver is not the subject of an investigation into a shooting in Philadelphia earlier this week, contrary to Internet reports citing unnamed sources.

Tom Condon, Harrison’s agent, told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen: ''I’ve spoken with Marvin and I’ve spoken with his attorney, and they say the reports are erroneous. Marvin was not involved in any shooting, and he is not the subject of this investigation.''

Condon declined to answer any other questions by Mortensen and did not respond to a voice message left at his home by The Indy Star. Harrison's attorney, Jerome Brown, didn't immediately respond to phone calls by the Indy Star either.

Houston Texans
Weary Signs One Year Deal

The Texans have agreed on a one-year contract with guard Fred Weary, who started 12 games on the right side last season until he suffered a season-ending injury during a December 2nd loss at Tennessee.

Weary, an original Texan, suffered a fractured tibia and fibula. The Texans said he made great progress in his recovery and will be 100 percent before the start of training camp, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Weary's one-year deal, which he's expected to sign today, has a base salary of $800,000. It includes a $300,000 bonus when he reports to training camp. He can make as much as $400,000 for games played next season.

Weary is expected to go to camp as the starter at right guard.
