Safeties and Nickelbacks Coach Chuck Cecil

NFL Season: 5th
Years With The Titans: 5
College: Arizona

Known during his playing days as being a hard-hitter with the Green Bay Packers (1988-92), Phoenix Cardinals (1993) and Houston Oilers (1995), Chuck Cecil has brought that same mentality to the Titans safeties and nickelbacks for 2004. Cecil joined the Titans staff in 2001 as the defensive assistant coach. His entrance into coaching came after he spent two seasons (1999-2000) working as a television analyst for his alma mater, the University of Arizona.

In his seven-year professional playing career, Cecil tallied 400 tackles and 16 interceptions in 95 career games. His best year came in 1992 after totaling 102 tackles and four interceptions. The year earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl. As a collegiate, Cecil was the former owner to the Pac-10 career interception record (21). He gained Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year honors his senior season, along with being named as a consensus All-American.
