The Home Of The Titans

LP Field offers one of the NFL's finest game experiences. You'll enjoy all the different things to do and the great atmosphere as the Titans take to the field. Here are the facts and the answers to some often-asked questions:

COST
LP Field was completed at an estimated cost of $292 million. Actual construction costs stand at approximately $165. Metro Davidson County government provided some $154 million in financing, PSL sales contributed $71 million, and the State, some $67 million.

DESIGN
HOK Sport, the leader in stadium projects, designed the stadium. The Kansas City-based company has designed NFL stadiums in Baltimore, Charlotte, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Miami, St. Louis and Tampa.

FACILITY
Some 800,000 cubic yards in concrete were used to build LP Field, which numbers some 1.5 million square feet. LP Field stands 190 feet high.

FIELD
Seven full-time professionals take care of the Titans turf. It's called TifSport Bermuda 94, and was laid this spring. The field has a 1 percent crown from the center. A 12 inch layer of peat and sand lie underneath the turf to help in drainage.

GROUNDS
The LP Field Complex covers some 120 acres. There are 7,500 parking spaces on the grounds, of which 82 are reserved for the handicapped. The concept of the complex: a park with walking areas along the riverbank. More than 200 trees were planted.

HISTORY
Nashville residents approved a referendum to build LP Field May 7, 1996. City leaders broke ground May 3, 1997. More than 1,000 workers spent the next two and a half years completing the project. A brief bump came in April, 1998, when a tornado hit the stadium, tearing down some scaffolding. The structure was not damaged. The damage did delay the project's completion by some three months.

NAME
Louisiana Pacific (LP) purchased naming rights to the stadium on June 6, 2006. LP is a producer of building materials and supplies which moved to Nashville in 2004.

RESTROOMS
LP Field has 40 womens restrooms, 26 men. 12 restrooms are set aside as family restrooms. There is one toilet for every 1,026 fans.

SCOREBOARDS
The giant end-zone scoreboards stand 56 feet high, 156 feet wide. Each board contains the latest Sony Jumbotron replay board, measuring 32-by-24.. Total cost per scoreboard: $5 million.

SEATS
LP Field seats 68,798 fans. There are:
* 175 luxury suites
* 11,492 Club Level seats
* 25,198 Upper Deck seats
* 26,504 Lower Level seats
It is 156 feet from the top level of the upper deck to the field. Each seat measures 19 inches wide (21 inches in the club level) and includes a cup holder.

STANDS
Fans can buy food at 60 concession stands, or souvenirs at 11 Novelty stands. The stadium has 54 water fountains.
