Report: Titans to sign journeyman QB Davis

The Tennessee Titans plan to sign journeyman quarterback Austin Davis because of injuries at the position, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.The Titans targeted the 29-year-old to provide veteran insurance with starter Marcus Mariota bothered by an elbow injury and backup Blaine Gabbert in concussion protocol.Gabbert suffered a concussion in last Sunday’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and might not be cleared for this Sunday’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles.Mariota was injured in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins. He entered the game against Jacksonville in relief of the injured Gabbert.Davis last threw a pass in an NFL game in 2015 for the Cleveland Browns. He played in three games (two starts) that year and passed for 547 yards and one touchdown against three interceptions.
