Titans TE Walker (ankle) out for season

The Tennessee Titans placed three-time Pro Bowl tight end Delanie Walker on injured reserve Monday following an ankle injury sustained in Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins.Walker’s right ankle was fractured and dislocated when a defender rolled up his leg while making a tackle late in the fourth quarter. Walker, 34, was carted off the field, ending his 13th NFL season after tallying four catches for 52 yards.Walker was named to the Pro Bowl in each of the past three seasons with the Titans, and he has missed just eight total games in the last 11 years. He set career highs in 2015 with 94 receptions for 1,088 yards.A sixth-round draft pick out of Central Missouri State in 2006, Walker played seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before signing with Tennessee in 2013. This July, he signed a two-year, $17 million contract extension with the Titans.Tennessee added tight end MyCole Pruitt to the active roster on Monday, signing the 26-year-old off the Houston Texans’ practice squad.Pruitt has spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Texans since entering the NFL in 2015 as a fifth-round pick from Southern Illinois. In 21 career games, he has 12 catches for 102 yards.Walker led the team with 74 receptions in 2017, and his loss is a big blow to the Tennessee offense and quarterback Marcus Mariota, who left Sunday’s game in the third quarter with what head coach Mike Vrabel described as a right elbow/shoulder injury.”I just couldn’t feel my fingers, couldn’t feel my hand,” Mariota told reporters after the game. “It was one of those things where I couldn’t grip the ball and all that stuff.”
