The NFL will announce Thursday that Titans rookie Jevon Kearse has been named AFC Defensive Player and NFL Defensive Rookie of the month for December, the first time a player has ever won both awards in the same month. Kearse totalled six sacks, 21 tackles, seven quarterback pressures, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and a touchdown in the last five games. He also broke the NFL Rookie Sack record in that period.
Kearse has won the defensive rookie of the month award three times, an NFL first.
