Titans Continue Momentum

The Tennessee Titans kept rolling on Sunday with a 47-36 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game marks the club's fourth straight victory and gave the Titans 13 wins. That's a feat unmatched in this franchise's history. Jacksonville dispelled any hopes for the Titans to have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, but that didn't keep Tennessee from putting up a good effort against the Steelers.

'We set out to win this ballgame regardless of the outcome of the game in Jacksonville,' said head coach Jeff Fisher at his weekly press conference. 'We did a lot of good things early in the ball game with the starters in, and as we began to make changes our backups, for the most part, played well.'

Fisher gave his club Monday off from practice, but did meet with the team to discuss this week's schedule. The coaching staff began preparations for Buffalo a little early.

'A lot of the staff members, with the exception of the coordinators, did the legwork last week before leaving,' said Fisher.

Fisher talked about the quality of his opponent.

'This is a very good football team we're playing. They're doing things that playoff teams typically do very well,' said Fisher. 'They're rated first in the NFL in defense. They are converting third downs to keep drives alive.'

Buffalo head coach Wade Phillips dropped a bombshell at his Monday press conference with the announcement that Rob Johnson will start in place of Doug Flutie. Johnson only start of the season came on Sunday in Buffalo's 31-6 victory over Indianapolis. The move caught Fisher by surprise.

'Doug Flutie is the one that has gotten them to this point, but apparently in Wade's (Phillips) estimation, Rob's performance yesterday was worthy of it,' said Fisher. 'I never second guess a coach's decision, but I am a bit surprised.'

Safety Marcus Robertson worked out on Monday for the fist time since his motorcycle accident last week. Fisher spoke of Robertson's availability for Saturday.

'He looks much, much better than he did prior to us leaving. He's encouraged. He's going to see the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor will give us a better idea,' Fisher said.

Anthony Dorsett started the Pittsburgh game in place of Robertson and played well.

'I thought he did some good things, but he played like he hadn't played that position in a game this year. There's some subtle things he needs to improve on, but he's been able to do that,' Fisher said. If Marcus is unable to go, we have confidence in Anthony that he at least has one game under his belt now.'

These two franchises hooked up in one of the most memorable playoff games in NFL history in 1993 when the Bills rallied from a 35-point deficit to win in Buffalo 41-38.
