Titans Get One Step Closer, Beat Cleveland 24-0
As the snow fell in Cleveland the Titans went on a record breaking rampage and a 24-0 shutout of the Browns.
The Titans made it known quick that a tricky offensive scheme from the Browns would not prove to be effective.
The Titans scored quick after a Travis Prentice fumble off one of those so called trick plays.
'We got focused and took care of business,' Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. 'I was a little concerned but we got the job done.'
After getting past the weather the Titans took control of the game and left the Browns in their dust.
Running back Eddie George led the team with 169 yards on 35 carries and also went over 1,400 yards on the season. It is the most yards in a season for the five time Pro Bowler.
Also having a record breaking performance was coach Fisher who got his 60th career win as a head coach, passing the previous franchise record for most wins.
Wide receiver Derrick Mason also got into the record breaking mix as he passed the mark set in 1985 for the most all purpose yards in a single season.
And to cap the day of broken records, Bruce Matthews passed his brother for games as an offensive lineman.
'It was nice,' Matthews said. 'It's always special for me to come up here just because I know how much the city appreciates him.'
Records aside, with the win the Titans get one step closer to securing home field advantage for the playoffs and look to next week as a pivotal game against an unpreditable team.
