Mason breaks record

Mason Gets Big Yardage And Big Record

When the regular season started Derrick Mason had no idea he would be in the position he is now.

With injuries to the wide receiver corp, Mason was thrust into the Titans starting team and asked to step up.

That is just what he did. Mason broke the single season total yardage record Sunday against the Browns just three days after learning he was selected to his first Pro Bowl.

Mason broke the record that was set in 1985 by Lionel 'Little Train' James who played with the Chargers.

Mason's 34 yard kick off return in the beginning of the second half gave him the record.

'I just want to take advantage of every opportunity I'm given,' Mason said. 'The Lord is really shinning down on me.' With the record and Pro Bowl out of the way Mason is looking forward to the upcoming playoffs.

'My main goal now is to win this last game and get back to the Super Bowl,' Mason said.

Mason will be a unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and will be sought after by many teams.
