Holmes Honored With Ed Block Award

The Tennessee Titans announced on Tuesday, that defensive end Kenny Holmes was selected as the club's 2000 recipient of the Ed Block courage award.

Each of the 31 NFL team names one player who explifies commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.

Holmes was selected by a vote of his teamates for his outstanding courage in recovering from an ankle injury and surgery that plauged him most of the 1999 season.

This season, despite his recent knee injury, Holmes is having a career year with 71 tackles, five forced fumble and 8 sacks.

The award is presented in honor of Ed Block, a great humanitarian and philanthropist who served as head athletic trainer for the Baltimore Colts for 23 years.
