Camden’s Ross Lumpkin Named Kia Sportage Award Scholarship Winner

Titans Radio and Kia named Camden Central High School senior Ross Lumpkin the 2001 Kia Sportage Scholarship Award Winner Sunday prior to the Bengals game.

A statewide media panel selected Lumpkin from a group of three finalists for the award. A total of 15 weekly winners were eligible for the final award. Lumpkin wins a $1,000 scholarship from Kia.

Lumpkin is a Senior at Camden Central High School and a member of the football, baseball and basketball teams. As the team’s quarterback, Lumpkin brought the team to the state playoffs. For the season, Lumpkin completed 46% of his passes for 11 touchdowns and 725 yards.

In addition to his athletic performance, Lumpkin maintains a 3.97 G.P.A. He is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and several other school organizations.

The Kia Sportage Award is designed to recognize outstanding male or female student athletes throughout Tennessee who also excel in the classroom and in the community.
