LeBeau Likes Defensive Improvement
Staff Report January 2, 2002
With the regular season drawing to a close Sunday, the Tennessee Titans look to improve their record to 8-8 with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Adelphia Coliseum.
The Titans are not only looking for their eighth win of this season, but the eighth consecutive win in the series against the Bengals.
Cincinnati is coming off a 26-23 overtime win against Pittsburgh, a game in which quarterback Jon Kitna threw for 411 yards and gained AFC Offensive Player of the week honors.
'It was a big game for us and should do a lot for our confidence,' Bengals Coach Dick LeBeau said.
LeBeau said the Bengals defense is the most improved portion of the team this year, giving up almost 1,000 less yards than last season.
However, Cincinnati knows capability the offense of the Titans possess.
'Their offense is a top ten offense in the league, and with the way McNair is throwing mixed in with their deep threats and a running back like Eddie George...we will be playing a great offense,' LeBeau said.
