Adams Optimistic About 2002
Staff Report December 29, 2001
Titans owner Bud Adams said he believes 2002 will be a better season for his franchise.
''There'll be some changes [on the roster], I would think,' Adams told the Tennessean. 'The secondary, we've got to get some people there. And if Eddie can make a full recovery and get back to doing the things he's always done, I think that would give us a big lift there.'
Adams said the Titans 0-3 start left the team in a deep hole from which it could not recover.
''You've got to set that pace early because you can't play catch-up, it's not going to work,'' Adams told the Tennessean. ''We were playing right with the playoff teams like Green Bay and Oakland here at the end, but it was too late.
Adams said he expects some changes on the roster due to the salary cap, but does not expect changes to the coaching staff this off-season.
''Sure, I'm disappointed,'' Adams told the Tennessean. ''I thought we would be in the playoffs, I thought we had a good team that was going to keep it going. But that early part of the season was a big letdown.''
