Staff Report December 29, 2001 Honoring him for the comeback from major knee surgery, Kevin Dyson's teammates selected him as this year's Ed Block Courage Award winner. Each NFL team selects one winner for the annual award which honors a player's professionalism, great strength, dedication and community service. ''I was a little bit surprised, especially with guys like Eddie [George] and Steve [McNair] who week in and week out come back from injuries,'' Dyson told the Tennessean. ''It means a lot to earn my teammates' respect by going out and showing them that I want to be out there playing.''
Dyson returned from knee surgery this off-season to tally six touchdowns and 678 yards receiving.
