Fisher Impressed By Effort Sunday
By Dustin Murray December 17, 2001

Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said his team played very well Sunday and defeated a very good Green Bay Packer team that is competing for an NFC Central title.

'We asked them to play like we were nine and three or eight and four and needed this game yesterday and next weeks game to clinch the division,' Fisher said at his Monday press conference.

'I put it too them that way because that's how Green Bay was playing. The guys responded well, played hard, and they had fun Sunday.'

The Titans got some help from an unlikely source Sunday as backup running back Skip Hicks led the rushing attack, especially late in the game.

'We're going to play Skip more,' Fisher said. 'We'd like to play Skip as much as we did Sunday.'

'I'd like to see if we could balance the reps up, but I also want to get Eddie 1,000 yards.'

If the Titans can win out they still have a slim chance to making the playoffs this season. It will take key losses by playoff contenders for the Titans to make the postseason.

'We're not mathematically out, however the possibilities are very remote,' Fisher said.

'We want to beat Oakland.'
