Long Injures Knee, Rolle Injures Foot
Staff Report December 10, 2001
The Titans came out of Sunday's loss to the Vikings with their center and a pro-bowl defensive back set dealing with injuries.
'The MRI came back on Kevin Long and he has an MCL sprain,' said Head Coach Jeff Fisher Monday during his press conference. 'It's a second degree sprain which means he could be out from anywhere from one to two weeks.'
'Bruce came back from a similar injury and didn't miss any time,' Fisher said. 'Kevin has a loose knee that needs tightned up and he has some swelling.'
The defensive backfield took another blow Sunday as pro-bowl cornerback Samari Rolle sprained his foot and is waiting for his MRI results.
'Samari Rolle has had his foot x-rayed this morning and underwent an MRI Monday afternoon,' Fisher said. 'He has a foot sprain with a great deal of swelling. He was in a boot after the game yesterday and is quite sore today.'
'Kevin Carter has a calf strain which he injured in the first half. He came back in the second half was limited and struggled with it, but finished the game.
'Robaire Smith has a thumb problem. It's a chronic dislocated thumb that can't be reduced. He's going to see a thumb specialist on Wednesday. There's a chance that he could have it repaired by sugery and if that's the case he's likely to miss the remainder of the season.
