The Titans have been forced to begin planning the logistics of the Super Bowl.
''This is the reality,'' Head Coach Jeff Fisher said. ''You must plan for that.''
Just as in the 1999 season, just one week separates the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.
''You have to address it,'' Fisher said. ''The potential for distractions is too great. You have to eliminate those distractions.''
Complicating this year's one-week separation for the Titans will be the travel. The 1999 Super Bowl trip meant a four hour drive to Atlanta not a cross-country trip to San Diego. Further, if Oakland wins Sunday afternoon, the Titans would also play the AFC Championship game on the west coast.
''We have to make the decision whether or not we come back and then return the next day or whether we simply go from Oakland to San Diego,'' Fisher said.
Fisher said the organization has spent time planning for the possibilities and will hold a meeting for wives and families Thursday.
