McNair Finishes Fifth In Offensive Player Voting

Though he did not win the award, quarterback Steve McNair's 2002 performance against received recognition Thursday as he finished fifth in voting for the NFL Offensive Player Of the Year Award.
Kansas City running back Priest Holmes took the honor following his 1,615 rushing yard performance this season. Holmes also scored 21 touchdowns. Holmes received 20.5 votes from a nationwide panel.
Colts receiver Marvin Harrison finished second while Oakland quarterback Rich Gannon grabbed third. Miami running back Ricky Williams received three votes, to finish fourth, and McNair received one vote.
McNair finished third in MVP voting behind Gannon and Packers quarterback Brett Favre earlier this month.
