McNair Practices Wednesday
Staff Report January 1, 2003

Quarterback Steve McNair took a few practice snaps Wednesday afternoon, marking his first practice in some five weeks.

''We expected him to be able to do that and we expect him to be out here tomorrow and Friday,'' Fisher said. ''He is feeling much better, a lot better than he has the last six to eight weeks.''

The Titans had a light workout Wednesday and will do similar work Thursday and Friday before taking time off this weekend.

''We emphasized rest and rehab and all those type of things and I think you can just come out and do football all day with the amount that we have left and the uncertainty going into this weekend,'' Fisher said. ''I think this made a lot of sense, so we wanted to kind of shake out the weekend, get them good and stretched and get their heart pumping and work on some physical things, some range of motion things and that is what we got done.''

Fisher said Monday that the Titans quarterback continued to progress through the sore ribs that have slowed him the last month. Fisher said McNair Monday felt better ''than he had in six weeks.''
