During the game against the Texans, Titans Defensive End Jevon Kearse left the game with soreness in his ankle and defensive back Donald Mitchell exited early with an ankle sprain.
With a first round bye in the AFC playoffs, Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher welcomes the off week as he hopes it will alleviate some off the aches and pains for some of his players.
''Having played four of our last six on the road, I think the road and the travel took a toll on us. Against the Texans, they were tired.''
Aside from Kearse and Mitchell, other players who are working through some pains include:(TE)Frank Wycheck
(DT)Robaire Smith, (S)Lance Schulters, (RB)Robert Holcombe, (CB)Samari Rolle, and (DT)John Thornton.
The most significant among those on the injury list are guard Zach Piller and offensive tackle Brad Hopkins. Piller sustained damage to his calf against the Colts in Week 14 and Hopkins injured his knee against the Patriots.
''Zach (Piller) and Brad (Hopkins) will be the two that we will have to keep an eye on. I think Zach (Piller) will be the one that will be close,'' Fisher said. ''Brad (Hopkins) is doing well. His knee is strengthening.''
As the Titans formulate a game plan for three possible opponents, Fisher says that rest is going to be the emphasis of the week.
''We definitely need to rest and recover. We emphasize the importance of rest and diet.''
