Titans Not Allowing Holiday Distractions
By Jonathan Hutton December 22, 2005

Most view Christmas time as a chance to spend time with loved ones.

The Titans, on the other hand, must focus on another task this Christmas Eve - the Miami Dolphins.

Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said playing on a holiday could pose as a distraction, but said playing on the road will help the Titans mental approach.

''I think there is an advantage to going on the road,'' Fisher said. ''We've played around Christmas before and you can imagine those who are playing on Christmas probably benefit from being away, rather than trying to manage both the holiday and the game at home.''

Fisher said that the NFL did a good job at allowing most teams the opportunity to be back in time for Christmas Day.

''I think the league did a great job this year scheduling the majority of the games on Saturday so that the players could come back and enjoy Christmas on Sunday,'' Fisher said.

As for holiday distractions, Fisher said he believes the players are ready to play.

''We've talked about the potential distraction,'' Fisher said. '' They've known well in advance what the schedule was going to be.''
