No Titans Named To Pro Bowl
Staff Report December 21, 2005

Despite leading the fan portion of Pro Bowl voting, neither linebacker Keith Bulluck or defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch were named to the NFL Pro Bowl.

The Titans are one of four teams without a player on the Pro Bowl roster. Green Bay, Cleveland, and San Francisco were also shut out of the Pro Bowl.

Vanden Bosch said he's disappointed not making the Pro Bowl, but noted the lack of success the Titans had on the season maybe why he and Bulluck were left out from those selected.

''You know, a lot of it is we just didn't win enough games,'' Vanden Bosch said. ''So, if I get the opportunity to be back here next year I just want to do what I can to get more wins and help us win. Then everything else will just take care of itself.''

Bulluck agreed that the lack of wins left him from being selected.

''I don't take [not being selected] as disrespect just for the simple fact that I'm not on a winning team [and] we haven't been playing good football,'' Bulluck said. ''Those guys that went, I'm sure they deserved to go because of the way they played and how their team did this year.''

Vanden Bosch said the snub gives him more reason to go out and play harder.

When asked whether the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest, Bulluck agreed.

''Oh yeah it definitely is,'' Bulluck said. ''... I think a lot has to do with politics. Guys get together and vote with their friends. But, at the end of the day, I know I'm the best linebacker in this league.''

This marks the third time in the last four seasons that the Titans have not had a player named to the Pro Bowl roster.

However Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said their record's no explanation of his players being left out of the Pro Bowl.

''We were shut out [from having players selected] when we went to the AFC Championship game,'' Fisher said. ''Those things happen.''

The AFC leading Indianapolis Colts sent a league-high seven players to the Pro Bowl, while Houston and Jacksonville will also send players to Hawaii.

Four Titans earned spots at Pro Bowl alternates; Vanden Bosch, Bulluck, defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and return specialist Pacman Jones.
