Titans quarterback Steve McNair sat out Wednesday's practice, but should return Thursday.

Head coach Jeff Fisher said a sore ankle kept McNair out.

''Wednesday is kind of a hump day for him,'' Fisher said. ''Monday and Tuesday is a little sore. Ankle is still a little sore. So we held him out, and we'll get him out get there tomorrow.''

Fisher also said McNair felt better than last week.

''He's a little better,'' Fisher said. ''He wasn't 100 percent in the ballgame. His ankle was sore but he's better than he was last week.''

The Titans work Wednesday consisted on more walk-through activities than full practice.
