Titans running back Travis Henry got back into the mix Sunday when he rushed for 86 yards on 13 carries in the Titans 33-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
''It felt real good to get back out there and contribute,'' Henry said. ''Most of all, we got a victory.''
Henry's been through alot in 2005 season. The Titans acquired Henry after giving up a third round draft pick to the Buffalo Bills. Before the former Tennessee Volunteer standout could get his feet wet in the Titans' organization, he went down in the preseason with an injury (turf toe). The injury kept Henry from getting significant playing time early on.
Then Henry got hit with a suspension from the league's substance abuse policy.
''Travis Henry of the Tennessee Titans has been suspended without pay for the next four regular-season games for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy.
The suspension begins immediately. Henry will be elibible to rejoin the Titans' active roster on Monday, October 24.''
The suspension came after the Titans loss to the St. Louis Rams.
During his four game suspension, Henry had the opportunity to work out at Baptist Sports Park to keep in football shape both mentally and physically.
''I came up here [Baptist Sports Park] because they [the NFL] let me work out,'' Henry said. ''So, I did the normal stuff to get ready.''
After his suspension and the rough outing with his last job with the Buffalo Bills, Henry said he's not frustrated by his current situation with the Titans.
''I'm trying to go out there and do my job,'' Henry said. ''That's the only thing I can do, and everything else will take care of itself.''
