Troupe Back And Looking To Beat Indy
By Chase Williams November 30, 2005

Ben Troupe is back.

The second-year tight end out of Florida caught four passes for 28 yards in the Titans' 33-22 win over the 49ers last Sunday in his second game back due to an ankle injury suffered against Oakland. Troupe was inactive for Tennessee's game at Cleveland, and then saw limited action with no catches in the next game against the Jaguars.

Troupe was happy with his performance against San Francisco but knows that it will take more against the 11-0 Colts, who he had four catches for 34 yards against in October, at the RCA Dome on Sunday.

''I'm just trying to go out there and make plays when my number's called, do whatever I'm called upon to do when I'm in there,'' Troupe said. ''We've got a big challenge ahead of us this week, going into Indy, playing them at their house. Peyton Manning and those guys are going to be fired up and we're definitely going to have to play our best game to beat them.''

Troupe is currently having a big year in Tennessee's tight end-friendly attack, totaling 32 catches for 230 yards and three touchdowns, including eight grabs for 67 yards and a score against AFC South rival Houston in October. All of this coming after breaking his foot in May's mini-camps.

The unselfish Troupe, who set Titans rookie records for receptions (33) and receiving yards (329) in 2004, likes getting the ball but believes that it will take a total team effort to emerge victorious on Sunday.

''Obviously, you love to have a chance to get your hands on the football...but we're going to have to play as a team,'' Troupe said. ''It's going to have to be all three phases: offense, defense, and special teams. We've got to be able to match them player for player, down for down, series for series, and hopefully, we'll have more points than them in the end.''

Troupe hopes to keep up his stellar play and keep the momentum going from last week in order for the Titans to do what nobody else in the NFL has done in 2005: beat Indianapolis.

''I hope I can get more involved this week,'' Troupe said. ''Anything I can do to help the team get that win, especially a win against an 11-0 team.''
