Here's how the Titans compare to the rest of the NFL heading into week 13.
Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch finds himself third in the NFL with 10.5 sacks. Vanden Bosch recorded two sacks and four tackles in Sunday’s 33-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Cracking the top 20 of players with an interception is Titans cornerback Reynaldo Hill. Hill ranks at a tie for 16th in the league with three interceptions. Hill picked off 49ers quarterback Ken Dorsey in Sunday’s game at the Coliseum for his third interception of the season. Hill also returned an interception for a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders’ Kerry Collins.
Kick returners/cornerback Pacman Jones ranks in at fourth at both kickoff and punt return average. Jones averages 26.4 yards on 25 kickoff returns and 9.9 yards on 15 punt returns for the Titans. In Sunday’s game, Pacman took four punts and averaged 10.5 yards per return with a long of 19 yards.
Quarterback Steve McNair moves to 14th in the league in passing yards with 2389. McNair’s also thrown 14 touchdown passes ranking him 13th in the NFL. McNair’s passer rating of 83.7 ranks him 16th in the league. Against the 49ers, McNair finished the game completing 23 of his 41 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns.
Titans punter Craig Hentrich falls into the 16th spot in the NFL in punting average with 42.9 yards per kick. Hentrich’s knocked 15 punts inside the Titans opponents’ 20 thus far into the season. In Sunday’s game, Hentrich hit five punts with a long 56 yards.
Tight end Erron Kinney ranks 22nd in the league and leads the Titans in receptions with 53. Kinney’s accumulated 577 yards, averaging 10.1 yards per catch. Kinney also managed to get back into the end zone for the second time of the season that went along with four catches for 37 yards Sunday against San Francisco.
Kicker Rob Bironas, with 78 total points, kicked his way into the 14th spot in the NFL. Bironas knocked four field goals through the uprights Sunday to help give the Titans the 33-22 win. Bironas is 18 for 22 in field goals on the season ranking him ninth in the league.
Titans running back Chris Brown’s rushed for 692 yards this season ranking him in at 19th in the league. Brown averages 4.1 yards per carry. In total touchdowns, Brown moves into the 15th spot with seven touchdowns, five rushing and two receiving. In Sunday’s match up against the visiting 49ers, Brown carried the ball 10 times for 30 yards. Yet, Brown made the difference at receiver becoming the Titans first 100 yard receiver this season. Brown caught three passes for 105 yards with a touchdown catch.
With 95 tackles, 72 being solo, linebacker Keith Bulluck ranks seventh in the NFL for total tackles. Bulluck recorded seven of those tackles against the 49ers and made one interception. The interception gives Bulluck two on the season.
