The Titans took safety Calvin Lowry from Penn State in round four of Sunday's NFL Draft.
''It feel great,'' Lowry said moments after the pick. ''I'm just trying to calm myself down from actually being picked.''
The 6-0, 206-pound safety earned first-team All Big Ten honors as a senior with two pass breakups and four interceptions. Lowry said he can play either safety position.
''If I had to pick one, I would say the free safety position because I'm more of a sideline-to-sideline, downhill-type person,'' Lowry said.
Titans Radio Draft Analyst Mike Detillier ranked Lowry as the 12th best safety available in the draft.
''(He's a) very instinctive football player who always seems to be in the right spot to be in the center of the action,'' Detillier said. ''Calvin needs to get stronger and improve his overall strength.''
Lowry returned punts for Penn State as a senior.
Lowry visited four teams, Cleveland, Atlanta, New Orleans and Tennessee.
''I want to come there and work hard,'' Lowry said. ''I want to come in and get started right away, working in the weight room and learning the plays.''
