Titans officials have decided to exercise an option on Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher's contract which would extend his current contract for the 2007 season.
The Tennessean reported that sources close to Fisher's contract situation said the Titans plan to keep Fisher under contract next season, which would buy time to negotiate a long-term deal for the future. The Titans have until this Sunday to officially exercise the option on next season.
Fisher gave no indication that contract negotions were yet underway after the Titans wrapped up practice on Friday.
''I’ll be ready to talk about my contract status when the season’s over,'' Fisher said.
The Tennessean also reported that the Titans are also expected to exercise the one-year options for offensive coordinator Norm Chow and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
