Titans rookie quarterback Vince Young has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 16. It is the first time Young has recieved this award and is only the second rookie, along with Colts running back Joseph Addai, to be named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week in 2006.

Young completed 13-of-20 passes for 183-yards and two touchdowns along with 61-yards rushing on eight carries and one touchdown in the Titans win over Buffalo. Young also posted a career high 127.7 passer rating as the Titans won their sixth straight game. The win improved Young's record as a starting quarterback to 8-4.

Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said that while he is glad Young gets the acknowledgment, Young's teammates played a large part in the performance.

''It’s nice that he got the recognition, but those things are always team oriented,'' Fisher said. ''It would not have been possible had he not gotten the help from his teammates – the offensive line, the running game and the good job that the receivers did for him.''

With the performace against the Bills, Young became the first player in NFL history with three rushing TD's of 20-yards or more and three TD passes of 20-yards or more in his rookie season.

Young also has totaled 522-yards rushing in 2006 and is the first rookie quarterback in NFL History to exceed 500-yards rushing.
