Brandon Jones Wins Courage Award
Staff Report December 21, 2006

Titans wide receiver Brandon Jones received the Ed Block Courage Award, presented to one player from every NFL team who shows the principles of sportsmanship and courage.

The award is named in honor of Eddie Block, who served 23 years as the head athletic trainer for the Baltimore Colts, and is part of a fundraising effort to help abused children in various NFL cities.

Jones was named by his teammates for his determination in returning from a devastating injury last season.

Jones tore his ACL against San Fransisco last season in late November and underwent surgery in early December to begin a tough nine-month healing process.

Jones returned to game action in the Titans final preseason tune-up this season against the Green Bay Packers up in Lambeau Field. The second year player out of Oklahoma caught a 54 yard touchdown pass in that game.

Jones has played in every game this season including eight starts. He has 21 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns on the year.

Previous Titans who received the award include Steve McNair (1999), Kenny Holmes (2000), Kevin Dyson (2001), Eddie George (2002), Kevin Carter (2003), Keith Bulluck (2004), and Tank Williams (2005).
