Fantasy Football: Go With Dayne
By Chris Hanson December 21, 2006

In Week 15, we hit on the top kicker of the week in Stephen Gostkowski/NE with four field goals and four extra points and 16 total points. We also got touchdowns from Lee Evans/BUF, Thomas Jones/CHI, and Brandon Jacobs/NYG.

Here’s this week’s “Picks to Click”...

Running backs
Ron Dayne/HOU – Dayne has won the starting job for the Texans and has looked more like the Heisman winner from Wisconsin. The Colts have had trouble stopping the run this year and we see Dayne getting his yards this week at home.
Steven Jackson/STL – Jackson has had a very productive year filling Marshall Faulk’s shoes in St. Louis. We like him to have a big week at home on the artificial turf against the Redskins erratic defense.
Shaun Alexander/SEA – This is somewhat of a surprise pick, but Seattle desperately needs to win this one against the Chargers to help them make the playoffs. We think they will have to rely on Alexander and he’ll answer the bell.

Quarterbacks
Alex Smith/SF – Smith has really bloomed during his sophomore year in the league and he’s got some dangerous weapons at his disposal. We think he’s have a grat day throwing at home against the Cardinals secondary.
Ben Roethlisberger/PIT– Big Ben is healthy again and the defending champs really need a win at home to stay in the playoff hunt. We think the Ravens will struggle and Ben will get plenty of chances to come up with some big plays today.
Chad Pennington/NYJ– The Jets are still in the playoff picture and need to win to keep their hopes alive. We think Pennington and gang will play well on Monday Night in Miami against the hapless Dolphins.

Receivers
Javon Walker/DEN – Walker has to be loving Jay Cutler because he can get him the ball so far downfield. We see Walker and Cutler connecting often and busting a big one against the Bengals suspect secondary today in Denver.
Marques Colston/NO– We like Colston to win the league’s Rookie of the Year and we think he’ll continue to play great this week against the Giants and their beat up defense. Brees to Colston could get pretty old to the New York media.
Braylon Edwards/CLE – Edwards is having a fine year and we think he’ll create some serious mismatches for the Bucs secondary, so we like his chances of catching lots of passes and breaking a long one at home against Tampa Bay.

Kicker
Morton Andersen/ATL – You gotta love the old man and you have to respect the job he’s done for the Falcons this year no matter what. We think this game against Carolina in the Georgia Dome could be a field goal fest between Kasay and Andersen and we’re going with the old man.
