In a winning game against Jacksonville, Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones had what is arguably his best performance in a Titans uniform.
"Every time we seemed to need a play, he(Jones) comes up with it," S Lamont Thompson said. "He’s just playing tremendous right now. He is totally comfortable out there and I just can’t say enough about how good he is playing."
At the offset of the game, Jones teamed up with DE Travis LaBoy to split a sack on Jaguars QB David Garrard. This was the first of what became five tackles completed by Jones’ throughout the game. It was Jones’ 1.5th sack both the season and his career.
Jones made his first touchdown off of an interception in his career during the middle of the first quarter. Gerrard’s pass was intended for WR Reggie Williams. After intercepting the ball, Jones took off and rushed for an 83 yard TD, giving the Titans an early lead 7-0. This was Jones’ fourth interception of the season and the fourth overall TD of his career. It was also Tennessee’s first interception return for a TD since Reynaldo Hill returned an interception 52 yards for a score last October against Oakland.
Jones also returned the second-half kickoff 70 yards. This was the third-longest kickoff return of his career.
Shortly after the kickoff return, Jones received a pass from QB Vince Young and gained 14 yards prior to running out of bounds at the Jacksonville 30 to gain a first down.
